Candidates
In the candidate-driven market which currently exists, our greatest challenge is to find the right people for our clients and the right companies for our candidates. It’s not a case of simply sticking advertisements in internet job-sites and waiting for our in-boxes to fill up. Scotland is a small place and networking is everything.
Excellent reputations are easily lost which is why we place such importance in treating everyone who deals with us extremely well.
Opportunities can be created for the right people within certain organisations even though an existing vacancy does not exist. We have clients who ask us to send them the details of certain ‘types’ of individual (which we do, with their permission, of course), when we find them, and, on successful completion of the firm’s own recruitment process, these candidates are, very often, offered roles.
With the recruitment of HR professionals being the core of what we do, our candidates are our clients and our clients are our candidates. The majority of our new business comes from personal recommendations due to the high level of service we provided to the client and the candidate. We don’t cold call.
The majority of the people we place had no real intention of changing role until we held an initial discussion with them, explaining what the opportunity was and why we thought they might be interested in having an initial, informal ‘chat’ with the prospective employer.
